A fabulous food discovery while visiting Looe. Absolute first class dining and service in an unassuming, intimate restaurant. With an open kitchen the entire team were most welcoming and engaging. I can highly recommend the buttermilk monkfish, crab rosti and the tastiest spuds I’ve ever had! All washed down with a wonderful bottle of muscadet. Despite living 350 miles away. I’ll make the return journey here.

5 star ratingAte here this evening with my wife and friends
Delighted our friends chose this place as the seafood it’s out of this world. We have some seafood over the years but nothing quite like this fresh and packed with delicious flavours.
Can’t imagine eating seafood anywhere else other than this place.
Definitely returning as soon as we can

The Fish Market was a real highlight from a weekend in Looe. I tried my first oyster here, which felt like a bit of a milestone, and the crab with the rostis was so good I ordered it twice. The moules marinière for main were fresh, generous and full of flavour. Relaxed atmosphere, great seafood and I would highly recommend!

5 star ratingLovely meal last night, a beautifully cooked Angus/Wagyu rump steak, crab on potato rosti, courgette ribbon salad, gem lettuce, Fred’s potato and delicious sourdough.
Ali was busy with a full restaurant but still found the time to chat and look after us, and when service was finished Fred came out of the kitchen (where we had been watching him cook in a small but perfectly formed space) and greeted all the diners, making each one of us feel special.
Highly recommend!

4 star ratingAlways innovative and guaranteed fresh fish of various types. We enjoyed our fish dishes and small plates. It’s not a terribly comfortable little restaurant as seats are not great. Fred’s potatoes are magical and recommended. Tried the small beefburger on this visit and it was beautifully created. Forgive me this comments, but the experience might be further elevated if the kind and helpful staff were less casually dressed as this detracts from what is quite an expressive dinner routine. We look forward to a future visit.

5 star ratingEvery mouthful was absolutely delicious. We came for lunch and the three of us shared all the starters/small plates between us accompanied by some bread and potatoes. It was all outstanding. The sea bass and monkfish were particularly memorable. The potatoes were epic, and be careful not to fill up on the wonderful bread but save it to mop up the flavours.
We’ll be back.
As others have said, it’s a little restaurant so well worth booking ahead.

5 star ratingThe Fish Market was one of our go to places we had marked for our recent culinary trip to Looe. We had crossed paths with Fred purely by chance in Kingsbridge and were keen to check out his place.
IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
Fred was there on the day of our visit and actively at the stove, I tip my hat ..
The menu read well and we opted for a whole John Dory with Curried Butter. The Dory was so on point, cooked to perfection. The butter complimented the fish in every way and didn’t over power it .👌
Our main was accompanied by a raw ribbon courgette Salad with Za’atar ,Lemon & Oil, probably the best and most moorish scrunchie potatoes dusted with paprika and other goodness and seasoned to perfection .damn they were good. The final culinary treat was a peach & burrata salad. The combination was a joy to eat.
We dined Al fresco as the weather was kind that day .. watching the boats coming in and going out, drinking great wine and eating such superb food made for a real package deal
Keep up the Great Work!
